Statement

My desire to create is fed by our beautiful planet and its phenomena. In my acrylic paintings, I paint rows of textured colors in an abstract style, inspired by soil horizons. In an attempt to push this notion further, I also create digital imagery that represents my fascination for what will, one day, be buried within the layers of the earth.

Work

In my current work, I use collage, acrylic and digital art to explore the phenomena of creating below the threshold of consciousness. To achieve this, it is necessary to produce spontaneously and intuitively, with no particular vision of what the outcome will be. Surrounding myself with acrylic colors, prepared papers, found objects and digital imagery, I begin my adventure. Colors speak to me and I let them guide me as I go along.

With a visceral method of creating, I communicate bold and powerful expressions of my thoughts, feelings, visions and experiences. The resulting compositions often have, large sections of layered colors, vigorous movement and tactile texture. The abstract style is modern and contemporary in design. The size range is from intimate miniatures to larger commanding canvases.
